What ARE microgreens?
We love this question.
Not to be confused with sprouts, which are younger and have different nutritional properties, microgreens are miniature versions of plants and vegetables that contain several times the nutrients of their mature counterparts.
Take broccoli for instance, which contains up to 40x the nutrients in its microgreen form.
Unlike sprouts, microgreens are photosynthesized, have greater flavor and nutritional payoff, and are harvested above the root. You had me at 40% more nutrients than a head of broccoli. That stopped me in my tracks at the Farmers Market in Burlington. I was hooked immediately at the taste, flavor and texture the greens gave my salads, soups, smoothies or any dish wanting a touch of nutrient power. Each bite, each flavor unique and deliciously enjoyable and nutritious. And they deliver a couple times a month ... How can it get any better?

I am new to the micro green world, but quickly fell in love! We use the radish and mustard on top of salads and almost any savory meal and they are so fresh and delicious! I am native Vermonter, so fresh produce by local farmers is very special to our family! Kate and Conner are so kind and educational. Conner and Kate are devoted to growing and tending- each variety- in the way that is optimal for that type of microgreen. After all the time and care invested to grow and harvest the micros, they also gave thought to how to keep them fresh and vibrant for as long as possible. Gourmet Greens offers more variety than what I've seen carried at the Co-op and other health oriented food stores...it's not easy trying to decide which 3 or 4 kinds to order, having such a dilemma is rather a good thing

Great people, great greens! They have a ton of options that go great with almost anything. I usually use them on Burgers and sandwiches as they are a great substitute for lettuce. Keep em coming GG!

These are my FAV micro greens to include with every meal!! Not to mention, these are a perfect snack on their own. In terms of quality, freshness and all the things you should be looking for in a micro greens, these are the top of the line. I enjoy my micro greens on salmon, in salads, on bagels and steak! Connor and Kate are also extremely friendly and sweet humans :)
